Choosing the Name and Genre of my magazine

Genre:

First off I asked my focus group what type of music magazines are in need of demand and got these responses below:

Looking at the responses I received I have decided that my music magazine will be one that provides information and gig reviews about indie-style bands that are not very well known but are similar to existing artists that people interested in indie music will have heard of before.

Name:

To decide on the name of my magazine, I have picked a few possibilities and shared them with my focus group, asking them to pick which one they prefer the most and asking for any other suggestions. 

Possible Magazine Names that I presented:

• Emerge
• Introduce
• Intro
• Melody
• Major
• Chord
• Medley
• Pitch 
• Suite

When presenting these suggestions, these were some of the responses I received:

Out of 6 votes,

4 votes for emerge=66.6%

1 votes for suite=16.6%

1 votes for intro=16.6%

From these results I have chosen to use Emerge as the name of my music magazine, which I believe was chosen due to its connection with the genre chosen of small bands 'emerging' onto the music scene. I chose to go with the majority due to the fact that my target audience is aged between 16-25.
